The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking for four part-time Sales Assistants to work across the shop and pop-up catering offers at Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Shakespeare’s New Place over the summer period from March to November 2023.

We welcome enthusiastic team members who want to ensure a visit to the Shakespeare family homes is a memorable one. So if you have a love of hard work, sales and meeting people from all over the world united by their love of Shakespeare’s life, work and legacy then we may have just the job for you.

Day-to-day tasks will involve till operation, adding value to customers’ purchases and experiences, unpacking deliveries, merchandising of displays, the production of hot and cold beverages, general cleaning duties, basic food hygiene safety checks and helping to ensure a efficient and profitable operation.

You should be willing and able to work across all areas as we need to be agile and flexible in our work in order to respond to customer demands and staffing needs.

The pop-up catering offers at Anne Hathaway's Cottage, Shakespeare's Birthplace and Shakespeare’s New Place are open seven days a week 10.30am to 3.00pm. The Birthplace Shop is open seven days a week 10.00am to 5.00pm.

You will be required to work weekdays, alternate weekends and a fair share of Bank Holidays so you should be flexible and available.

Previous catering and/or retail experience is beneficial. Excellent customer service, an enquiring mind and an outgoing personality are essential.
