My Sighted Guide Volunteer Experience Officer / Volunteering Training Coordinator who has experience of volunteer management, supervision and development with strong training, presentation and communication skills is required to join our friendly team at Guide Dogs.
**SALARY**: starting from £28,988 pro rata

JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a My Sighted Guide Volunteer Experience Officer / Volunteering Training Coordinator who has experience of volunteer management, supervision and development with strong training, presentation and communication skills.
Working as the My Sighted Guide Volunteer Experience Officer / Volunteering Training Coordinator you will ensure an exceptional volunteer experience and be responsible for the recruitment, training, stewardship and support of all volunteers within the service.
Working within a geographical area, the My Sighted Guide Volunteer Experience Officer / Volunteering Training Coordinator will adhere to national strategy and local team plans, growing a Lead Volunteer network and acting as the champion for the volunteering service.
DUTIES
Your duties as the My Sighted Guide Volunteer Experience Officer / Volunteering Training Coordinator will include:
Understand and communicate short and medium term volunteer requirements
Support local volunteering staff (and Community Hubs) to promote My Sighted Guide volunteering opportunities
Coordinate with Volunteering Office to ensure recruitment processes, including references and criminal disclosure checks, are completed in a timely manner
Plan and own the training delivery programme, including delivery of training and support for volunteer trainers to deliver courses to volunteers
Observe delivery of training programmes
Lead delivery of safeguarding training for the service
Work with peers nationally to develop a sustainable Lead Volunteer programme
Deliver Friends & Family training in accordance with regional and national plans
Support the development of new volunteering opportunities
Provide a first-class volunteer experience through peer support and initiatives
Monitor and evaluate the volunteer experience via feedback and key metrics
Identify improvement areas

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
Educated to post-secondary level with a minimum of 3 GCSE passes including Maths & English at grade C (or equivalent)
Proven experience of volunteer management, supervision, and development
Experience of delivering training to groups and individuals in different formats
Relevant and recent skills and experience working in a safeguarding setting or having responsibility for the safeguarding of others
Recent and relevant experience of working within the children /vulnerable adults’ sector
Demonstrates an understanding of volunteer motivations and what volunteers may want the experience to provide for them
Demonstrates a knowledge of additional needs
Relevant and recent knowledge of safeguarding practices including safer recruitment
Knowledge of methods used to engage and support volunteers
Understands the importance of accessibility and usability in a training context
Eligible to work in the UK
