**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF CAMPUS ACADEMIC CO-ORDINATORS**

Each campus will have an Academic Co-ordinator who will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of all courses delivered at their campus.

The Academic Co-ordinator will report to both the Head of Academics and Head of Programmes on all matters relating to the delivery of programmes. In addition, the Academic Co-ordinator will liaise with the Campus Manager and Course Directors to ensure the smooth running of the programmes at their specific campus.

Depending on the number of programmes and university partners at the campus, The Academic Co-ordinator role could also perform the role of Course Director for one programme.

In particular, the Academic Co-ordinator will:
1. Work with Course Directors to ensure all programmes running at the campus meet all key academic milestones including, course committees, student/staff consultation meetings and assessment boards.

2. In liaison with the Campus Manager, keep under review, and maintain the provision of human and physical resources for all programmes at their campus.

3. Report to and ensure regular liaison with the Head of Programmes and Head of Academics on overall programme performance.

5. Provide summary reports to the Head of Academics and Head of Programmes on the progress and performance of students studying at the campus.

6. Ensure that Course Committees carry out their functions and in liaison with the Chair of each Course Committee, ensure:
a. the preparation of course publicity material;
b. that information held on the School’s module database is updated to take account of revisions which affect the modules taught in the course;
c. the effective timetabling of the course;
d. arrangements for student induction programmes, including the preparation and distribution of course handbooks and other material to students;
e. the allocation of Personal Academic Tutors to students;
f. the regular review of student attendance and progress and presentation of reports on such matters to the Course Committee, including evidence of extenuating circumstances submitted by students in relation to performance in examinations and assessment in semester one;
g. the implementation of the Course Committee’s decision regarding the method of

h. staff/student consultation;
i. the consideration of requests for permission for late submission of coursework on behalf of the course committee;
j. collation of draft examination papers and collaboration with external examiners and the University in the approval and moderation of examination papers and other forms of assessment.

k. confirmation of the examination timetable

l. arrangements for the preparation of students' results profiles for presentation to the Board of Examiners;
m. communicating to unsuccessful students the Board of Examiners' decisions about their performance and progress;
n. preparation for consideration by the Course Committee of a draft response to the report(s) of external examiner(s);
o. preparation and submission of appropriate documentation, for initial consideration by the Course Committee, for annual monitoring and revalidation and for proposed revisions to the course.

7. In consultation with the Head of Academics, Head of Programmes and Head of Quality, plan and deliver appropriate training and professional development to academic staff on an annual basis and to an agreed schedule.

8. Conduct formal and informal lecturer and lesson observations as part of the cycle of continuous improvement and to agreed timescales.

9. Produce annual self-evaluation reports and action plans for all provision on the campus.

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
