The Approved Mental Health Practitioners (AMHPs) carry out statutory duties under the Mental Health Act on behalf of the integrated South Gloucestershire Council and Avon & Wiltshire Partnership (AWP) Mental Health Service.

As the AMHP Service Co-ordinator, you’ll make a difference by supporting and delivering the operational provision and co-ordination of the processes and statutory systems which deliver an AHMP Service.

**What you will be doing**

Reporting directly to the Assistant Team Manager, and to the South Glos Council Mental Health Service Manager for Mental Health Act related queries, advice and support.- Using service guidance, you will assess when cases meet specific eligibility criteria and will know which professional to pass them to, advising the customer in a sensitive manner when they do not, and provide information about other relevant organisations e.g. alcohol services.
- A considerable part of this role’s duties, will involve you scrutinising information from the Emergency Duty Team, collating relevant information and history and follow up on outstanding MHA referrals which need to be assigned.

You will track the teams whereabouts and safety, alerting the duty manager and Emergency Duty Team when required at the end of the day whether AMHPs will be working past office hours and providing all the relevant details.- You will have a responsibility for uploading AMHP reports to the Local Authority Database. You will also assist the work of the integrated mental health teams by uploading social care documents to the Local Authority Database You will liaise with colleagues and attend meetings in relation to how the mental health datasets are uploaded to the Local Authority Database.
- You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the S117 Register and liaising with colleagues from the Local Authority and AWP in relation to how the information is stored and processed. You will be responsible for liaising with colleagues in other Local Authorities and Mental Health Trusts regarding queries relating to their S117 Registers.

**What we need from you**:

- We require you to have experience of providing an excellent level of customer Service
- It is essential you have varying levels of experience and ability to stay calm when taking calls from our service users.
- You will be educated to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in customer service or business admin (or other relevant field), or equivalent level of knowledge
- It is key that you have 0ffice and administration experience including the use of MS office and using data system.
- You’ll have a general awareness of mental health services

Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
