- Provide a full range of care and health education in a hospital setting performing clinical midwifery duties.
- Act as experienced mentor for less experienced midwives and student midwives.
- Assess the full range of care needs and develop, implement and evaluate provision of care throughout the childbirth period for women and their babies.
- Continuing responsibility for the day to day management of the allocated area, ensuring delivery of high standard of midwifery care through effective management of staff and resources within the service.
