Trainer (Fitter) for Apprentices

**Description/Overall purpose of the Job**

The Trainer will assist the AHUK Training and Compliance Manager in all of his duties which include Training Delivery, Facilitation and Instruction, Mentoring and Coaching, Training Administration, Apprentice Development and On the Job Training and any other reasonable request as required by the business. The role will be 80% shop floor 20% Classroom based. Also the trainer will

Assist with the Skills Development of all AHUK Apprentices using training coaching and mentoring methodologies.

Assist with the delivery of AHUK Part 145 training requirements.

Support the coordination and practical training delivery of AHUK Part 147 approved engineering type training courses.

Support the educational needs and leadership development of AHUK Employees

**Main responsibilities**

Assist the AHUK Training and Compliance Manager with the recruitment and supervision of AHUK apprentices assigned to the AHUK MFTS programme ensuring;

Mentoring and development of AHUK MFTS apprentices.

Soft skill development and learning.

Coordination and care of apprentices through the chosen apprenticeship programme.

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Essential _

Highly developed hand skills and familiar with current aviation engineering practices

Comprehensive understanding Part 145, Part CAMO and MRP regulations.

Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate and present appropriately at all levels of the organization through written and verbal methods.
- Desirable _

Minimum 7 years’ experience in Aviation Maintenance.

Previous experience in a technical support role (undefined discipline)

Experience of Flight Operations, Line and Base Maintenance UK CAA/MAA Part 145.

Experience of UK Military Aviation.

Experience in a leadership role.

Experience as an aircraft engineering trainer or instructor.

**Education, Qualifications or Training**
- Essential _

At minimum of 5 GCSE / O level or equivalent

National Qualification at Level 3 or above in General Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering.

Full UK Driving License.
- Desirable _

UK Nationally recognised - Training Instructional qualification (i.e. PTTLS / AET Level 3 or above).

UK Nationally recognised -Leadership or Management qualification at L3 or above

UK Nationally recognised -Coaching or Mentoring qualification at L3 or above

**Additional requirements**

Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and be eligible for SC clearance.

Applicants must meet any/all requirements of Export Compliance Regulations.

Travel - The trainer may be deployed temporarily for training purposes between Shawbury, Valley, Oxford and other areas dictated by operational training requirements.
