The RPI Technical Lead role is within our Cavendish Nuclear business.

**The role**
**The difference our new RPI Technical Lead will make**
Day to day, you’ll work with and ensure the laboratory is compliant to all relevant British Standards, UKAS guidance documents and good practice guides and you’ll also develop calibration and testing protocols and capability for radiation protection instrumentation to support business development and best practice initiatives, this includes acting as authorised signatury for all calibrations carried out. You’ll prepare/review, verify, and approve work instructions, method statements, laboratory statements, technical reports, and calibration protocols to support all radiological calibration services, providing training to the team on all technical changes to processes, as dictated by findings and you’ll Lead in technical when UKAS assessors carry out audits of the laboratory, and ensure any actions are closed out in a timely manner, this will include carrying out technical internal audits routinely.

**Essential experience**
- Substantial experience in the nuclear or a science equivalent industry (highly regulated)
- Degree qualified or equivalent significant experience within a physics or mathematical discipline (percentages, thresholds, and normal distributions)
- Strong technical background, preferably in physics, electronics, or related scientific discipline with sound knowledge of Metrology technology and radiation
- Sound understanding of BS ISO 4037 and BS ISO 17025
- Significant experience with the measurement of ionising radiation.
