PORT AGENT

**FAWLEY**

**£29,200k to £30,200k **pa (salary package made up of salary plus shift allowance).**

**Key Accountabilities**
- A Key Member of the team providing 24/7 coverage via a set shift rota. 12 hour shifts for 2 days then 2 nights followed by 4 days off.
- Full coordination and ownership of appointments from enquiry, nomination stage through the port call, to completion for port agency/husbandry calls.
- Coordinate vendors/suppliers in advance of vessel arrival ensuring smooth services aiming to minimise vessel idle time in port.
- Receive advance schedules and ETAs, work with port authorities, terminal and port services providers pro-actively to look after Principal’s best interests for berthing and working prospects.
- Prepare PDA’s/pre-funding/pre-arrival documents between vessel, port, terminal and government authorities.
- Book port services for vessel berthing and sailing. Keep Principal and stakeholders updated/provide real time progress reports.
- Husbandry services for vessel, including crew changes, technicians/ship visitors, spares, provisions, Cash to Master, bunkers, fresh water etc.
- Raise Light Duties Certificates/Arrange vessel surveys/inspections.
- Prepare Statement of Fact, cargo & customs documentation/clearances.
- Boarding of vessels as required. Welcome the Master/complete local formalities. Deliver manifests/parcels, collect outgoing mail, arrival and departure data/conditions.
- Up-to-date records of port, terminal/ berth/ restrictions/tariffs/any other tasks relating to port agency function. Identify business opportunities. Deliver excellent ships agency services/ vessel turnaround. Comply to agreed standards/company Global SOP, KPI’s/Service Level Agreements.
- Receive/respond to proforma port and husbandry cost requests.
- Assist with rates and negotiation/supply issues/contact lists and other financial support
- A good working knowledge of Port Operations, Shipping and/or Port Agency.
- ICS Shipping Qualification desirable or willing to work towards
- Experience of working in a customer facing role in the maritime industry.
- Experience of working to pre-defined processes and procedures and delivering work in accordance to KPI’s and Service Level Agreements.
- Experience of working in a corporate office environment, preferably on call with a duty phone.
- Strong Communicator both written and verbal. Ability to work calmly and able to prioritise work unsupervised. Competent user of the Microsoft office suite including Outlook, Excel and Word.
