We have an exciting opportunity for a Rehabilitation Officer (Visually Impaired) to join our Hearing and Vision Team.
**There is flexibility to work from our three main hub locations in Chippenham, Trowbridge and Salisbury, as well as the opportunity to work from home.**

Our Hearing and Vision team provides a range of services to people who are blind, have limited or impaired sight, are deaf or have an acquired hearing loss. We also work with people who are deafblind (a person who has a significant combination of hearing and sight loss).
**About the role**
As a Rehabilitation Officer, you will undertake assessments, determine care packages/support plans and manage a large and complex caseload to maintain and/or improve the wellbeing of clients, and support non-professional colleagues.
You will enable people with a visual impairment to remain, or become, as independent as possible; working across the county to provide advice, information, and assessments.
You will have the authority to recommend equipment or adjustments necessary to enable people to carry on leading an independent life and offer training i.e. using aids such as white canes.
Can refer people with a visual impairment to other useful services and organisations both locally and nationally.
The work of the team is directed by the Care Act (2014) and supports the council in meeting its statutory duties.
**About You**
You should hold a degree in a relevant profession or have equivalent and relevant experience in a similar work environment.
We will look for you to have planning and workload management skills, accurate record keeping, report writing, assessment and investigation skills, and the ability to carry out complex client assessments.
The role will require you to have excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work with challenging client groups and situations.
Good presentational skills and proven ability to deliver training are also essential.

**Salary**: £32,909.00-£34,723.00 per year
