HOPe Support Co-ordinator: job description
Overall job function
Responsible for delivering an effective and highly regarded ‘information and advice’ service to the community served by HOPe New Forest and building the charity’s USP as a home-based service.
Specific tasks
- To raise, and maintain, HOPe’s profile across the communities we serve to ensure that we achieve our objectives as a New Forest based charity. This is achieved through regular local press articles, membership of relevant organisations, and seeking opportunities to engage with other bodies.
- On an ongoing basis, to forge links with other community and social services agencies to maximise our outreach, keep up to date with navigation options and understand the support framework in our area.
- To be confident and efficient in dealing with a wide range of client concerns, whether by direct intervention or signposting to an appropriate agency.
- To build HOPe’s database of information and advice services
- To maintain appropriate and relevant record keeping of individual client cases, using HOPe’s technology platform.
- To ensure that all HOPe policies and procedures are followed.
- To produce reports as required, itemising activity and success to demonstrate to stakeholders the value of the service to the charity and the local community.
- To maintain strict security protocols in keeping with client confidentiality and GDPR requirements.
- To recruit, supervise and train volunteers in relation to skill sets, organisational priorities and procedures.
- To work closely with the befriending service to promote and deliver a ‘joined up’ offer to the local community.
Personal skills/qualities required
- A genuine interest in the charity’s aims and the enthusiasm to translate these into action.
- A high degree of integrity and understanding of the need for complete confidentiality.
- A practical level of literacy and IT proficiency.
- An understanding of, and ability to help clients with, the relevant support areas.
- An enthusiastic approach to self-development/knowledge acquisition.
- An empathic nature.
- The ability to work both individually and within a small team.
- A sense of humour.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 7 per week
