Walker Cole is searching for an Upstream Fermentation Scientist to join a leading Biopharmaceutical business.

As an Upstream Fermentation Scientist you will be collaborating with process scientists from different departments including Upstream, Downstream and Analytical.

Some key responsibilities as an Upstream Fermentation Scientist will involve:

- Conducting process development troubleshooting investigations
- Investigating cellular responses to process optimization changes
- Running SDS-PAGE gels, silver staining of expressed proteins during fermentation
- Application of aseptic techniques, preparing media, optimizing media recipes for different bacterial strains

A successful Upstream Fermentation Scientist will have:

- A minimum of a BSc BEng (or equivalent) in Biology, Biotechnology or related
- Relevant experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally with E.coli cells
