Stride Recruitment are partnering with a **Renewable Energy Specialist** on the search for a **Solar Estimator **based in **Peterlee, England.**
As the **Solar Estimator** you will play a key role in the design and development of Solar Systems, responsible for creating details designs, conducting site assessments and optimizing installations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Design solar PV systems for residential, and commercial projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate solar potential, shading analysis, and structural considerations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, electrical engineers, and installers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Utilise software tools such as Opensolar, PVsol, to create accurate solar PV layouts and simulations.
- Perform energy modelling and financial analysis to assess the viability and ROI of solar projects.
- Optimise system designs for efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while considering customer requirements and preferences.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for permitting and construction purposes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in solar PV design and engineering.
- Liaise with Suppliers, building relationships and negotiate best prices
- Provide client quotations and follow up.
**What are we looking for?**
- Experience in Renewable Energy, or related field.
- Electrical Qualification Level 3 would be advantageous but not essential
- Solar PV Qualification would be advantageous but not essential
- Proven experience in solar PV design, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and solar design tools (e.g., OpenSolar, PVSol).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar PV technologies, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
