Reactor Operator

Operator of a reactor making Pressure Sensitive Adhesives. Running a DCS control system charging chemicals and powders to pre way tanks then to a reactor taking control of exotherm. Cross link the product and package out. The position will have an assistant which you must guide to keep the reactor running and the packaging.
- Must follow all Safety Rules, Regulations, Operating Procedures, Corporate/Plant Policies and Laws always.
- Be active as job involves walking up and down stairs.
- Safely operate an industrial lift truck.
- Compounding and staging of raw materials.
- Blending of chemicals and powders.
- Labelling and filling containers with product.
- Take samples and testing using lab equipment to ensure product quality.
- Stage empty containers, maintain satisfactory housekeeping standards, prepare equipment for maintenance.
- Safely managing industrial chemicals using established safe plant procedures and processes.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including chemical suit, respirator, face shield, hard hat, steel toed boots, etc.
- Accurately completing shop floor paperwork and adjusting as needed.
- A good knowledge of computer systems.
- Work a 3-shift rotor 24/5.
- Participate in company safety meetings and training this role you are accountable for working in a safe and proactive manner, ensuring products are manufactured in a timely manner whilst maintaining and promoting excellent standards throughout the site.

Pay: £36,000.00 per year
