Road Worker

Our client one of the largest road maintenance companies across Scotland are looking for additional Winter support on our Highland and Islands roads and pathways.

**For the right person this will lead to a Permanent role.**

This role will have a 3 weekly pattern outlined below:
**Week 1** - Dayshift working between the hours of 0800 - 1630 standby will also be required out with these times which will include weekends

**Week 2** - Nightshift working between the hours of 1930 - 0600 Monday to Thursday with a stand by requirement on Friday Saturday & Sunday

**Week 3**:

- Day Shift (spare) normal working hours of 0800 - 1630 with no standby requirements

This will then go back to Week 1.Main Duties for the successful Road Workers will be (however not limited to) the following:

- Essential overnight winter treatment of pathways and other access areas
- Attend minor incidents with the main front line teams to ensure roads are passable and safe to use
- Assist with any other road maintenance issues

The main aim of this role is to ensure that all routes are a safe as possible throughout our Scottish Winters.

Previous experience welcomed however full training given.

Road Operatives must have:

- Standard car licence
- Have experience of working nightshift
- Be happy to be on 24 hour stand by as well as being flexible with their hours
- Comfortable with an initial Drug & Alcohol test

Pay Structure:

- Dayshift £10.46 per hour for 40 hours per week £15.69 paid for overtime
- Nightshift £13.60 per hour for 40 hours per week £18.83 per hour
- Monday to Friday Stand By £10.35 per day
- Saturday £22.06
- Sunday £30.02
- Enhanced rates for Public Holidays, Christmas and New Year

Inductions and training for this role will start immediately and this role is due to run until end of March 2023 however a permanent offer would be made for the right person.
