An opportunity has arisen for a driven and passionate Room Leader to join our friendly team at Brighouse SOS.
SOS is an out-of-school and holiday club based on-site at Woodhouse Primary School. We are a long-established not-for-profit organisation which is highly focused on health and well-being, providing a safe and fun environment for children aged 4-11 years old.
**Part-time**: up to 25 hours per week
**Pay**: up to £13.10 per hour
**Term time club opening hours**: Monday to Friday 7.10am - 8.45am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm,
**School Holidays**:The club is open Monday to Friday 7:15am - 6:00pm.
We are a flexible setting, willing to accommodate specific needs and shift patterns, where possible.
**Job summary**:
- Provide quality playcare within the framework of the club’s policies and procedures.
- Deputise for Manager in the operation of the Out of School Club, including health and safety, compliance, and administration.
**Line manager**: Out of School Club Manager
**Working relationships**: Children attending the club and their parents or carers, management and other of staff members, volunteers, schools, registering authorities.
**Main duties include**:
- Supervise, safeguard and keep all children safe whilst at SOS.
- Provide varied and meaningful activities for children of varying ages.
- Prepare breakfast and snacks for children.
- Cleaning of setting before, during and after sessions.
- Speaking positively to parents / carers as well as children.
- Behaviour Management of children in setting.
- Maintain health and safety standards.
- Report any concerns to DSI.
- Deputise for the Manager in the day-to-day smooth running of the setting, ensuring staff are deployed appropriately and their planned activities reflect each individual child’s needs.
- Support and supervise room staff with their day-to-day duties.

**Person specification**:
**Essential qualities**
- Experience of working with 4 to 11 year olds.
- Delivering equal opportunities in a play setting.
- Understanding the varied needs of children and families.
- Providing and facilitating safe, stimulating play.
- Excellent communication skills together with sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children.
- Ability to work on own initiative, using judgement and common sense.
- Familiarity with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
**Desirable qualities**
- At least 2 years’ experience of working in a childcare setting.
- Experience of working in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Current Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Appropriate Level 3 qualification.
- Appropriate child protection training.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office.
