Bridgwater, United Kingdom EDF Limited Full time

Location: Satellite Delivery Centre, Bridgwater - with some travel to HPC site required.

**Salary**: £55,000 - £65,000 dependent on experience

Employment type: Permanent

Closing date: 19th February 2023

**Are you passionate about Health and Safety and achieving Zero Harm? Are you looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference?**

If so, join EDF as a CDM and Conventional Safety Lead, and you’ll join one of the most exciting and challenging projects within EDF, as we continue to lead the rebirth of nuclear in the UK.

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As a CDM and Conventional Safety Lead, you will be responsible for acting on behalf of the HPC Client for ensuring that all HPC activities are conducted in a way that protects the health and safety of the workforce and the public, in line with our Zero Harm ambition.

This is an excellent opportunity for a great communicator, who can demonstrate broad experience in construction and nuclear settings.

**Pay, benefits and culture**

Alongside a salary of £55,000 - £65,000, we’re dedicated to offering flexible benefits that support our people across all aspects of their lives and we’re delighted to offer a range of benefits to support our employees’ physical, emotional and financial wellbeing.

We offer a market-leading company pension scheme, paid holidays and a range of flexible benefits, such as: a company incentive bonus plan, cycle to work scheme, discounts and employee pricing.

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Ensuring the Project’s compliance with the obligations as stated in Construction (Design Management) Regulations 2015, in specific reference to the Client role.
- Supporting the Project’s health and safety management process, procedures, standards and systems within the Integrated Management System to ensure that health and safety risks are managed proportionately.
- Interfacing with external certification bodies and/or regulators as required.
- Undertaking audits, reviews, and assessments to identify and share best practices and shortcomings in arrangements to ensure that the project delivers to safety, quality, cost, and programme.
- Reporting on the status of health and safety on the project as required.
- Ensuring high standards and quality of the Client’s arrangements in relation to managing health and safety.
- Supporting the project’s compliance with Nuclear Site Licence condition LC7 (investigate incidents) by way of ensuring the correct recording and classification of health and safety events, thereby triggering a proportionate investigative and corrective response.
- Helping drive capture of innovation and best practice for health and safety on the project via leveraging of experience and existing network, seeking information via industry channels, and embracing the HPC Way behavioural programme.
