**The Opportunity**

We have a great opportunity for Senior Raw Materials Technologist to join our team here at Walker & Son. You will lead the raw materials team, providing structure and guidance, with a strong drive to improve raw material and supplier compliance whilst ensuring retailer requirements are met. Engaging with suppliers and customers where necessary and working closely with wider site teams throughout the product development process.
- A keen eye for detail, focused on material compliance, with a drive to achieve high standards.
- A good communicator, who can convey the facts in an accurate and concise manner.
- Excellent organisational skills, an individual who can prioritise workload with the ability to adapt under unexpected or ad hoc situations.
- An individual who is comfortable talking to both suppliers and customers in a professional manner, able to conduct meetings either in person or via Microsoft Teams and develop actions plans to drive improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure, or to deadlines.
- Problem solving skills with the ability to gather, analyse and present data.
- A self-starter able to use own initiative with a pro-active approach.
- A team player, actively engaging with the wider site teams during the NPD process and integration of new materials and suppliers into Walker & Son.- Knowledge of Microsoft programs such as word, excel, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of BRCGS standard and retailer standards such as Tesco Food Standard
- Knowledge of Recipe Professor
- Internal auditor certified
- Intermediate / Level 3 HACCP
- Intermediate / Level 3 Food Hygiene
