The role of an Enhanced Porter is to work as part of a team to provide safe, competent and comprehensive support to all wards, departments and users of the service. Porters are responsible for transporting medical equipment, goods, pharmacy products, blood products and medical gases.

As a Porter the main part of the role is to undertake patient movement in a safe, dignified way to a national agreed response time, all tasks have a set priority and should be responded to within the agreed time frame.

As Porters we undertake the role of Security within the hospital, which includes locks, unlocks and area patrols to ensure everything is in order.

The post holder will be part of the violence and aggression team, as part of the team along with clinical colleagues to implement safe-holding techniques from de-escalation to restraint
