£14.91 per hour

Our client is looking for an experienced Ceremonies officer.

To conduct/register marriages and civil partnerships at the Register Office, Local Authority approved ceremony rooms, places of worship, Approved Premises and in some instances, at places of residence including hospitals, hospices and private homes

To conduct non-statutory ceremonies, including Naming, Renewal of Vows and Commitment Ceremonies

To conduct/register Statutory and Non-Statutory Civil Ceremonies as above

To develop a sound knowledge of statutory requirements to ensure that ceremonies and formations are legal and binding according to the law of this Country

To have the ability to adapt rapidly to situations which may arise before, during or after ceremonies, such as dealing with legal objections

To provide excellent customer care

To be the public face of the Council at significant events both at the Register Office and at Approved Premises

The post holder will be expected to conduct/record a range of statutory and non-statutory ceremonies across the County of Denbighshire, including Marriage, Civil Partnership, Naming, Renewal of Vows and Commitment Ceremonies

On the day of a ceremony, on occasion, to receive outstanding ceremony fees

To attend all relevant training, including refresher training when required
A good education background with GCSE English and Maths

Must have excellent presentation skills

A desire to provide first class customer care in any situation is required

Experience of public speaking.

Essential to fully understand the importance of these occasions and the legal requirements relating to the post

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

Experience of working within a customer service environment

Experience of working within the Registration service is highly desirable

Ability to record and maintain accurate records

The ability to speak Welsh is highly desirable
