**Cycle Mechanic Tutor -** Scunthorpe**

**Salary: from £22K - £24K 37 hours Monday to Saturday**

They are now looking for a Cycle Mechanic Tutor to join the team.

**The Role**:
The role will be to Share your passion for cycling and cycle maintenance with the local community through bike libraries, community training/workshops and accredited training.

**Role Responsibilities**:
**Mechanic Duties**:

- Providing high standard of repair and ensuring bikes are fit for purpose and safe when leaving the workshop
- Providing high levels of customer service including dealing with repairs and storage
- Checking and servicing bikes on site and conducting minor adjustments
- Assisting at events through promoting cycling and the charity, providing servicing and repairs.
- Providing bike maintenance demonstrations
- Co-ordinating the bike libraries including sourcing bikes, liaison with schools, employers and partners, maintaining the stock and ensuring paperwork is complete, circulated and stored appropriately.
- Co-ordinating the supply of bikes.
- Development of the hub including general operation.
- Ensuring that the activity at the workshop and other cycle-related bases is safe, with appropriate risk assessments and systems in place.
- Maintaining sound relationships with partner community organisations
- Supporting with guided ride programmes
- Any other duties relevant to the level of this post as reasonably requested.

**Tutor Duties**:

- Training volunteers, kickstart employees and trainees to City and Guilds qualification standard in bicycle maintenance.
- Training members of the public in basic cycle maintenance.
- Developing lesson plans.
- Completing all necessary training related paperwork.
- Any other duties relevant to the level of this post as reasonably requested.

**Management Duties**:

- Managing kickstart employees
- Supervising volunteers and trainees

**Essential Skills & Requirements**:

- Bicycle Maintenance qualifications such e.g. Cytech, Velotech, City and Guilds to Level 2 or equivalent.
- Full Driving Licence and ability to drive the Company Van
- Teaching/Training qualification desirable such as; Award in Education and Training, CertEd, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, PCCE.
- Skilled bike mechanic
- Training skills
- Developing projects
- Building community links/relationships
- Knowledge of workshop safe systems of work
- Knowledge of relevant legal requirements including risk assessment, health and safety
- Substantial experience of bike repair and maintenance
- Experience of training others
- Enthusiasm for bikes and cycling
- Enthusiasm for helping disadvantaged individuals and communities
- Positive attitude and enthusiasm
