**Security Vetting Officer**

**6 Month+ Contract**

Our client, a leading defence organisation, urgently require an experienced Security Vetting Officer to undertake a long-term contract.

**Within this role, you will be responsible for**:

- Accurately completing and recording all right to work and identity checks
- Inputting in a timely and accurately manner, data into a 3rd party provider portal to minimize delays in completion of clearances
- Support HR, Procurement and Recruitment in obtaining BPSS and security clearances for new employees
- Support the team in achieving its objectives and reducing risk to the organization
- Be point of contact for stakeholders on vetting enquiries
- Liaise with UKSV and other external agencies when appropriate
- Monitor external IT platform to obtain and update security clearance

**In order to be successful, it is essential that you have the following experience**:

- Experience of pre-employment background checks and national security vetting process
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and within the wider security department
- IT competent and willing to learn new systems
- Able to act in the strictest of confidence with personal sensitive data - integrity is paramount
- Must be able to obtain national security vetting and BPSS
