**Locum Social Workers - Childrens (Grade 9)**

**Principal Accountabilities**

To protect and promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, this role involves contributing to the overall strategy of Birmingham Children's Social Care Services; working collaboratively with parents, carers, and colleagues; engaging in critical reflection and constructive challenges; undertaking direct work with children, young people, and families; attending weekly team meetings; and maintaining accurate case records. Additionally, the role requires engaging in professional decision-making processes and participating in ongoing professional development.

This role also involves adhering to health and safety regulations, as outlined by Health and Safety at Work. Act 1974 and associated legislation, taking personal responsibility for one's own health and safety and that of other employees and participating in the professional decision-making process with children, young people, and their families and colleagues in relation to complex/high-risk cases.

The post holder may also be required to prepare for and attend relevant decision-making panels and courts, as required in relation to specific cases.

**Key Requirements**:

- Recognised qualification in Social Work (Degree, PGDip or MA/MSc)
- Social Work England (SWE) Number
- Driving Licence
- Enhanced DBS
- 5-Years References
