**Temporary Housing Solutions Team Leader**

**Pay rate £17.53 per hour PAYE**
**This opening assignment is for 3 months** The successfully applicant would need to lead, and manage a multi-disciplinary Housing Solutions team. To ensure that statutory obligations under the Housing Act 1996, Part VII (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 are complied with and local performance targets are met and service standards are adhered to Key responsibilities:

- To effectively lead, supervise and manage a Housing Solutions Team allocating budgets and resources to meet the service’s annual business plan within agreed budgets and resources.
- To monitor temporary accommodation and supported housing for homeless households, preventing the use of Bed and Breakfast wherever possible.
- Develop, implement, direct and manage service plan actions and targets for the team and ensure these are met to professional standards and current best practice.
- Have a systematic approach in appraising team and staff performance that covers monitoring casework, one to ones and to take corrective action including performance management that will generate positive performance.
- Effective delegation of tasks to staff including completing performance indicators, presenting team meeting agenda items, attending meetings and training staff.
- Ensure the team(s) work to agreed policies and procedures and comply with management information systems to provide financial and performance monitoring control for the delivery of the service.
- To lead and assist in reviewing literature in paper format and website documents ensuring it is updated for the use of staff, customers and partners.
- To ensure the accurate completion and submission of all appropriate statistical returns, including H-Clic, national and local performance indicators on time with supporting evidence.
- To develop, with partners and staff new and existing projects to provide services to customers that respond to an identified need. To develop and monitor joint protocols with partners in providing services to homeless households and households in housing need

- Knowledge of homelessness and related housing legislation
- proven demonstrable track record of:

- Management in the following areas: Homelessness Prevention including rough sleeping, Housing Advice (desirable), Choice Based Lettings and Allocations (desirable), Homeless determinations, Housing options management
- Managing and motivating individuals to achieve excellent sustainable results.
- Ability to introduce and respond to new initiatives and legislation
- Effective management of budgets
