**Amicis Care Ltd is looking for a Head Chef to join our care home team**

We are a 20 bedded care home in Cheltenham looking for a head cook to run our kitchen. We believe that food and mealtimes play an important role in the lives of our residents and want to find a cook that can prepare home-cooked food wherever possible.

We have achieved an elite award for Food Safety and it is important that this is retained.

**Responsibilities**
- Liaise with the care home manager to plan menus for up to a month in advance.
- Organise the ordering of all food working to a flexible budget.
- Ensure that all food is stored properly and in proper temperature conditions.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, including but not limited to cutting boards, work surfaces, and other kitchen surfaces.
- Maintain the kitchen facility for proper cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
- Ensure all kitchen paperwork is in order.

**Experience and Skills**
- Previous experience in preparing larger numbers of meals
- Strong command of English communication skills.
- Familiarity with best practices and food safety law.
- Ability to communicate with other kitchen staff to ensure continuity and the smooth-running of the kitchen.
- Suitable qualifications in food safety and an ability to prepare meals according to a resident’s dietary requirements where required.
