**The Role**
As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in logistics and transport operations. You will be responsible for the efficient planning and coordination of our fleet movements across the UK, ensuring that goods are delivered on time and in the most cost-effective way. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the smooth running of our transport operations and customer satisfaction.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and manage effective transport plans for the distribution of goods nationwide.
- Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and health and safety standards.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and other stakeholders to optimise routes and resolve any logístical issues.
- Monitor and report on transport costs, efficiency, and performance.
- Utilise transport management systems effectively for planning and tracking purposes.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide timely updates on shipment status.
- Continuously seek ways to improve transport efficiency and reduce costs.
**Essential Qualifications and Skills**
- Must be CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualified.
- Proven experience in transport planning within a haulage/logistics environment.
- Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of UK road networks.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
