London, United Kingdom Sainsburys Full time

We’re a multi-channel, multi-brand business serving millions of customers a day, with the UK’s largest loyalty scheme and an ever-evolving set of digital platforms. All of this equals over 1.2 billion transactions each year, presenting a volume, depth and complexity of data that few can match.

We don’t think we’re exaggerating when we say we have the most exciting data set in the country. And from the insights gained, we build scalable, high-performance products using cutting-edge technology that give our customers an amazing shopping experience - like our award-winning Smartshop app. In an inclusive, agile environment, you’ll have the space to be curious, to experiment, and to solve real-world challenges. And you’ll get to see your creations in the hands of millions of people across the UK.

As a Technology Portfolio Lead, you’ll support us to run Sainsbury’s Tech with world class efficiency, giving us the understanding needed to continually deliver great technology for our customers, undertaking analysis and providing people and portfolio value and process insight.

You’ll have an eye for detail, continually looking for opportunities to improve and execute processes that deliver effective and efficient outcomes. Together with the Technology Product Operations Manager, you’ll ensure we communicate key messages and emphasise risks and dependencies within the product teams and across the domain.

More about the role
- You’ll undertake analysis and provide People, Portfolio Value and Process Insight which is actionable, including periodic reporting for Product Councils
- Interpretation and analysis of multiple data sources, and compilation into appropriate reports
- Where required, you’ll improve process and reporting efficiency, and make appropriate recommendations to the Technology Portfolio Manager
- Documentation and management, including document share storage management, sign-off recording and archiving
- Support the Product and Engineering in reviewing their People strategy and performance against it
- Raise and receipt Purchase Orders; this includes management of work orders with 3rd party suppliers
- Demonstrate awareness of commitment to Sainsbury’s colleague and company values, helping us make Sainsbury’s a great place to work
- Provide a framework to facilitate recruitment, selection, onboarding, offboarding of colleagues to the domain in line with workforce strategy

More about you
- You’ll have knowledge of principles of working on large scale IT initiatives
- Knowledge of budget management and control principles
- Knowledge of retail processes and digital product development
- Experience in the use of reporting and project management tools - including Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint, Oracle iSupplier and Planview
- Curiosity about technology and the role of portfolio management in running a Tech division and domain
- Strong analytical skills to analyse data from multiple sources to compile updates, and to make process recommendations and improvements
- You’ll be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and complete core activity with limited direction
- Ability to work with colleagues, bring groups together to discuss and solve problems, and collectively work out agreed ways to proceed

As well as lots of on-the-job training and endless opportunities, you’ll get:

- Colleague discount across our multi-brands - Sainsbury’s, Argos and Habitat
- Holiday allowance
- Bonus scheme
- Pension plan
- Special offers on gym memberships, restaurants, holidays, retail vouchers and more

Work-life balance is important to us, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role. We trust them to decide how, where and when they work, combining remote and collaborative working with a flexible approach to hours, giving them plenty of time and space for life outside of work whilst delivering against our business goals.
