Warehouse Dispatch Team Leader

**Scope / Purpose of Role**:
Warehouse Dispatch Team Leaders perform an array of functions that will include.
- Running the day to day dispatch operation.
- Carry out staff training.
- Ensure all staff are working in a safe manor and following H&S processes.
- Carry out workplace inspections.
- Carry out daily / weekly checks, record findings and report to management team.
**Key Result Areas**
- Work alongside Dispatch team to achieve daily workload (refer to Fulfilment op job spec)
- Ensure all orders are dispatched by the end of the shift.
- Contact courier providers if collecting vehicles are late or have not shown up to collect.
- Ensure all KPI targets are met and investigate reasons when deviating from standard
- Provide coaching and support for department and encourage improvements.
- Continuous reviews of all staff within dispatch identifying and addressing performance.
- Highlight any skills gaps within team and discuss options to rectify with Department Manager.
- Assign tasks to the team members as required.
- Keep equipment clean & operational by following operating instructions.
- Conducting daily checks on equipment & reporting breakdowns.
- Conducting weekly checks & cleaning on equipment & reporting breakdowns.
- Conducting weekly workplace inspections.
- Monitor the stock level of consumables and order more with office manager when required.
- Monitor the stock level of magnums and other equipment used to dispatch orders.
- Contact Courier’s when magnum and other equipment is low to arrange delivery of more.
- Ensure staff are following safe working procedures.
- Ensure staff always maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Promote safety in the workplace and ensure all accidents & near misses are reported
- Be able to cover team leaders in other areas in the warehouse when on holiday
**Key Performance Indicators**
- Time Keeping & Attendance.
- Manage overall performance across Dispatch functions & ensure employees are achieving targets set by the management team.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements to facilitate a safe working method and environment for all other staff.
- Report all accidents & near misses to the departments Management, Supervisor, or the Health & Safety Representative.
- Ensure targets are being achieved within the area.
- Ensure all training is carried out with employees.
- Demonstrate that you can achieve the targets set by the management team.
**Skills & Experience**
**Skills**:
- Good communication both verbal and written.
- Be confident in delivering effective communication to daily contacts.
- Take ownership and accountability to achieve the required targets standards within the department.
- Positive demeanour and can do attitude.
- Meet deadlines by working with colleagues and teams across the warehouse.
- Have a good knowledge of IT systems and printers.
**Experience**
- Previous warehouse experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
