**PURPOSE OF ROLE**:
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Health & Safety**
- Deputise for the Health and Safety Manager as required.
- Support the Health and Safety Manager with the implementation of the wider SHEQ Plan.
- Undertake internal audits, inspections and visits on an arranged and ad-hoc/unannounced basis across the businesses, completing and submitting relevant reports within any required timeframes
- Have a detailed understanding of relevant Health and Safety legislation, ensuring regularly updating your own knowledge as new legislation appears, interpreting and advising Directors and Line Managers as appropriate.
- Reporting RIDDOR incidents to the HSE, Directors and Insurers as required.
- Support site managers with incident investigations (enhanced, where appropriate).
- Investigate accidents and near-misses and, using root cause analysis techniques, identify the improvements to be made, advising/updating the relevant people.
- Work in conjunction with HR and Line Managers in relation to employee absence and Occupational Health when required, e.g., absence due to wellbeing issues, injury etc.
- Support with workplace wellbeing programmes, working in conjunction with HR (e.g., mental health awareness).
- Work closely with business leaders and line managers to build their knowledge and understanding of all relevant Health & Safety requirements and legislation.
- Influence and build strong relationships with people around the business, confidently and positively challenging working practices where appropriate.
- Assist with the management of the Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001), liaising with certification bodies as required.
- Assist with the regular updates and maintenance of information held within the SHEQ Management System.
- Support with the drafting and technical vetting of Company policies, procedures, Tool-Box talks, COSHH and other appropriate guidance.
- Prepare and deliver Health and Safety Training, as requested by the Health and Safety Manager
- Lead by example at all times, always encouraging a 'safety first’ culture, by using the correct PPE and following all safety requirements and procedures; reporting any accidents, hazards, near misses, damage or defects immediately
- Act responsibly in relation to all matters which may affect the Health and Safety of yourselves and others whilst on Company premises, customers’ premises and travelling between sites, and adhere to safety regulations at all times

**Qualifications & Experience**:
Essential: NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate

Tech IOSH or equivalent

Experience of incident management and investigation

Experience in creating and delivering Health and Safety training

Full driving licence

Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma / NCRQ Level 6 / NVQ Occupational Health & Safety level 5

Grad IOSH (or higher)

Background/experience in Operational Management, ideally in work areas such as Facilities Management,
