Commercial & Projects Solicitor This National firm are looking for a Solicitor or Associate to join their growing team in the Commercial and Infrastructure Department to focus on projects and commercial work in the Health Sector.
- Best practice initiativesfor health PFI contract management working with the Centre for Best Practice at Department of Health;
- Ongoing PFI variations and forward planning for the expiry of early health PFI schemes;
- A host of other developments including primary care centres, NHSkey worker housing; hospital car parks, hospital retail, patient hotels and NHS private patient units. This well established team also advises NHS commercial transactions including: joint ventures, commercial ventures and partnerships; managed equipment contracts;new models of care provision in the NHS; outsourcing and shared services and contract renegotiation and termination. The team works closely with colleagues across the firm, including those in our construction, corporate, procurement, property and employmentteams. The broader department is involved in a wider variety of commercial and complex contracting work including PFI/PPP, joint ventures, construction and engineering, outsourcing and commercial work in a wide range of sectors including Education, IT, Wasteand Energy, Housing and Local Government services. The role : You will:

- Assisting the team on the delivery of a range of projects and commercial transactions to both public and some private sector clients. These transactions deliver new facilities or servicesfor the NHS.
- Learn about exisitng PFI contracts and assist with variations and advice on contract management.
- Advise on shared services, new models/alternative delivery vehicles (including companies and limited liability partnerships).
- Be a valued memberof the team, supported, trained and developed by senior members of the team in a supportive environment.
- Have the opportunity to engage regularly with clients, attend client meetings and work closely with other legal, financial and technical advisors.

- A passion to learn, enthusiasm and the desire to excel as a lawyer
- Prefered but not essentialexperience of advising health bodies or other public sector organisations, or the private sector on contracts with the public sector, although broader corporate/commercial experience is also advantageous
- Ability to, or experience of, working in a team andcoordinating advice with fee earners across a team
- The ability to deliver clear, precise advice
- Strong technical skills and an ability to understand and work through complex issues
- A demonstrable ability to adopt a practical and commercial approach tolegal issues
- Ability to liaise effectively with clients and build relationships
- Ability to operate with a high level of self-sufficiency combined with an awareness of own abilities
- A positive and flexible approach
