The Senior Buyer in the Specials Category will continue to facilitate the supply of Specials (Unlicensed Medicines & Special Obtains) to customers of our client.
The role involves both routine and non-routine tasks around purchasing, supplier engagement, providing support and guidance to Customer Services and sourcing unlicensed pharmaceutical products from the EU and the ROW for import into the U.K
The job holder will have a high degree of autonomy and independence in the importing and procurement process within the buying procedures, internal processes, and delegation of authority. Autonomy will be high in respect to decision making and negotiation,relating to purchasing price, volumes, delivery schedules, range, and product updates.
The role is a key commercial position within the category, the success of which has a real and direct impact on the achievement of the Category's financial results.
Our ideal applicant will have/be;
Understanding of Specials and Unlicensed Medicines Market and/or EU parallel trading industry Appropriate commercial awareness Good negotiation skills Able to build strong relationships Ability to operate under pressure Excellent planning and organisation skills& close attention to detail Effective communicator & able to work with people at different levels of an organisation Numerate and analytical Team worker Proficient in Microsoft tools including 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams
Essential Requirements:
Understanding of Specials and Unlicensed Medicines Market and/or EU parallel trading industry. Strong communication skills, good commercial awareness and the ability to build internal and external relationships.
Ad hoc national and EU travel may be required, with overnight stays and attendance at meetings or conventions outside of normal business hours, including some evenings.
Full driving licence
All staff are expected to understand the principles of Good Distribution Practice of Medicinal Products for Human Use (2013/C 343/01) which is reflected in our clients SOP - REF Chapter 1 AHDL GDP 1.1. It will be a requirement for all staff to be trained inthis SOP and have a periodic refresher. All other GDP training will be job specific and as per your personal training matrix.
