**Consultant Ecologist**

MCL Consulting is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy based in Belfast and working across the UK. Our work is predominantly within Northern Ireland.

We have a vacancy for the role of Consultant Ecologist to lead our established MCL ecology team. The successful applicant will work primarily within the ecology team, assisting and undertaking various surveys and reports such PEA, Biodiversity Checklist HRA Screening and ECoW roles. Species specific surveys undertaken within the company include assessments for bats, badger, otter, breeding birds, newt etc. The role will be split between office-based and field-based activities, working mainly throughout Northern Ireland with some work also in Republic of Ireland. With an established portfolio of clients and projects, and a plan for further expansion, this position would suit a motivated individual with an established scientific reputation in ecology and experience in project team management.

Key Selection Criteria:

- Full driving Licence.
- Educated to at least BSc Level in a relevant ecological discipline.
- Minimum 1 year previous experience with ecological consultancy and survey work
- Voluntary or other relevant environmental experience an advantage.
- Must be keen to work outdoors and have some experience of ecological surveying.
- Must be able to demonstrate good customer service / management skills and teamwork abilities.

Applicant must have a full driving license and preferably hold CIEEM membership.

We are offering an attractive salary with various benefits, remuneration dependant on level of experience.

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
