**What you’ll be doing**
This role involves working across multiple functions and teams every day, supporting the field operations and working closely with teams in the operational control centre in Kemble Court. Every day will be different with plenty of variety. This role will be the ‘go to’ in the Logistics shift team for day to day escalations and will be empowered to prioritise with the LOCC (Logistics Operational Control Centre / Logistics Planning Team) and Logistics Delivery team to ensure pollution and supply interruption incidents are mitigated and managed quickly and efficiently.

As a Logistics Technical Lead you will bring technical knowledge and support to a logistics function and be the bridge between the shift team and Incident Management for escalations. You will support a very busy shift team who are collectively responsible for mitigating and reducing pollutions and supply interruption incidents through proactive understanding and support, providing immediate response for water and waste demand. Key duties will include:

- Lead, drive and co-ordinate Logistics delivery for escalations and incidents
- Be the key incident contact for the LOCC
- Build strong relationships with equivalent leadership roles in the Control Centre and operational field teams to ensure excellent response
- Build Thames Water and industry knowledge to understand the basics of technical resolution i.e. site operation principles, water and waste networks management, appropriate mitigation for incidents, challenges and risks
- Supporting and developing logistics planners to develop their skill set and delivery
- Provides prompt, in-shift investigation of complaints
- £40,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
- This position is based at Kemble Court, Reading and is 100% office based
- Shift Pattern: 38 hours per week, 12 hour shifts: 06.30-18.30, 4 days on, 4 days off, 3 nights on, 7 nights off, 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 13 nights off. Shift pattern starts on a Friday and all annual leave and bank holiday allowance is built into your off periods
- The first couple of weeks will be 09.00am-17.00pm and then a gradual move to the 12 hour shift pattern

**What you should bring to the role**
- Proven experience in a field or control operational role
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities with the ability to coach and mentor
- Experience dealing with and influencing stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to handle and analyse critical data
- Able to work under pressure and effectively prioritise conflicting requirements
