Looking after our water, means looking after our environment.

As a water company, we understand that our core activities have a direct impact on nature, and we need to manage them carefully to ensure our impact is positive. This is why we are looking for a **Senior Hydroecologist** (Aquatic Ecologist) to join our team on a permanent basis at our Coventry office and help us to continue the great work we are doing.

Do you have proven experience of undertaking environmental investigations in rivers? Do you have experience managing technical projects and providing technical advice to stakeholders across all levels?

If so, then read on

**EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW**

Working within our Water Resource Strategy team, you will provide support and advice relating to freshwater ecology, hydroecology and environmental assessment. You will assist with our environmental investigations, impact assessments and investment options appraisals with the objective of informing our investment plans.

The programme of works covers the whole of the Severn Trent region and is delivered using Severn Trent Water's in-house technical experts and specialist consultants. You will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure we complete our projects.

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have an understanding of freshwater biology and ecology and the relationship between ecology and flow/water quality. It is key that you understand the environmental pressures impacting on streams and rivers, in particular abstraction, climate change and drought.
