To work within EVA Women's Aid to provide specialist counselling and therapeutic support to adults who are survivors of, or affected by, sexual violence and domestic abuse.

Working to develop and maintain the integrity of the organisation in the fields of profile, partnerships, representation and performance, and to promote and ensure best practice for children, young people and their families experiencing the effects of domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Main Duties and responsibilities are to support the empowerment of EVA clients, assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic/sexual abuse present in their situation, and help them regain control of their lives.

Knowledge/Understanding of domestic abuse/sexual violence including the impact of abuse on victims and their children. Theoretical, practice and procedure knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of abuse.

Experience of managing clients within a framework of risk management and safeguarding principles. Managing a diverse caseload with clients who are vulnerable. Working with domestic and sexual violence.

Skills/Qualifications required - Counselling degree (Foundation level or above), Computer literacy skills and working with databases. Excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations. Membership of BACP or equivalent professional accreditation or proof of sufficient hours to acquire accreditation.

As there will be considerable amount of paperwork and computer work involved, a good standard of verbal and written English is essential.

Pay: £24,523.00 per year
