The Adult Education Service is part of Coventry City Council. We provide a wide range of courses for Coventry residents age 19+ and much of our provision is targeted at people with the highest levels of need.

We also offer a very wide range of short community courses in arts, crafts, music, dance, exercise, fitness and family learning. In addition, we run a highly supportive study programme for young people.
- Nursery Workers
- Teaching Assistants
- Leadership/Management; and
- Customer Care.

We also provide courses for adults who are seeking work via the Council’s Job Shop.

Our main base is at Southfields Old School, CV1 5EJ, with provision delivered at around 25 other sites within Coventry, mostly in areas of highest need.

What is the job role?
Coventry Adult Education is seeking an Administrator to join our Customer Service Team.

This is an exciting role where you will interact with a diverse range of people and get all the benefits of working for the City Council. You will be working in a range of venues across the city and acting as a first point of contact to residents interested in studying with us. You will only be required to work during school terms, so this job is an excellent fit for applicants with school aged children.

In addition to answering queries and helping residents find the right course(s) for them, you will also perform a variety of administrative tasks to help us keep our classes running, including:

- Setting up courses, registers and student information
- Helping keep venues running smoothly and assist with resolving equipment faults
- Assisting mangers and tutors with preparation of resources

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?
You will be expected to use your initiative to deal with issues as and when they arise and be able to identify more complex issues that need to be escalated. Reception experience is desirable as is experience of using IT software.

**This position is over 5 days, Monday to Friday, Term Time Only 8.30am - 1.30pm**
