**Headline**
We are recruiting for a Head / Assistant Herdsperson on a 260 head organic dairy enterprise on the Wiltshire / Gloucestershire border. The mixed organic dairy, beef and arable farm integrates Agri-environment schemes complementary to food production, as well as operating a PWAB dairy herd, i.e. no antibiotic use. It is a family farm under new management consultancy from Ceres Rural and this provides an excellent opportunity for someone to join a progressive farming team with staff well-being at the forefront of future strategy.
Previous dairy experience is required, but more importantly, we are looking for an independent individual who is a good communicator and has a willingness to learn. Training provided as required.
**The Role**
Previous dairy experience required since the role will be responsible for milking, daily care and management of the dairy herd, including preventive veterinary care, herd health, calving and calf weaning. The role would also include responsibility for grazing platform management. Milking is done through a 10:10 herringbone Westfalia parlour with ACRs and Westfalia Dairy Plan computer system.
The role would suit a responsible, motivated individual wanting to work to high standards of husbandry, management and hygiene within a wider farm setting.
