**Risk Engineer (Energy, Refining & Chemicals Insurance)
- £70,000 - £110,000 Tax Free + housing allowance - Dubai**

**The Role
Do you have a passion for engineering and the drive to make a difference? Are you an experienced engineer looking for a challenge? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking to recruit an additional senior engineer to work in our fast growing and well-established Middle East hub in Dubai. The role includes the opportunity for 60 to 70 days travel to client sites within the Middle East and further afield on surveystypically lasting 2 to 5 days.

**Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of an Energy, Refining & Chemicals Insurance Risk Engineer include, but are not limited to:

- Client facing, undertaking physical condition surveys of client assets, generating descriptions of processes and their key control features.
- Producing building and plant loss/replacement estimates
- Conducting training, and benchmarking exercises, performing desktop risk assessments, mitigation exercises and ERM type studies.
- Opportunity to interact with senior client staff in risk management, operations, and engineering functions.
- Ability to communicate to all organizational levels is a critical competency, and a key task is the production of underwriting reports, requiring the ability to summarise data in a structured, articulate report format.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of an Energy, Refining & Chemicals Insurance Risk Engineer are:

- A degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering is the preferred technical qualification.
- background in energy, refining and petrochemicals, technical support, production, and maintenance functions would be ideal.
- substantial experience within oil & gas, LNG, refining or petrochemical operations, possibly at a leadership level. Experience within Inspection or asset Integrity, operational process safety or group audit would be particularly beneficial.
