**About the job**:
The Corporate Affairs function within South Western Railway is made up of stakeholder engagement, sustainability, internal and external communications.

The team delivers a wide range of activities on behalf of internal stakeholders from across the business, including members of the Executive.

The new role of Corporate Affairs coordinator will support the team in the delivery of its core business objectives while coordinating and organising meetings, events, interviews, correspondence, media monitoring, reporting and HR/Finance processes.

**Your main responsibilities will be**:
Supporting with the day-to-day operation of the Corporate Affairs function. The work and activities required by this role are varied and often require reacting to events:
Examples of the activities required within this role include:

- Coordinating the communications grid to give a clear picture of what's coming up
- Liaising with PAs to organise meetings, events and speaker opportunities for executives
- Supporting the delivery of internal and external facing events
- Arrange conferences, meetings, accommodation and travel as required
- Coordinating the creation of internal and external reports
- Raising and processing POs and invoices in line with FirstGroup policies.
- Monitoring budgets and forecasts for the department.
- Providing flexible support to the wider Corporate Affairs team as needed
- Prioritise and manage work and follow through any issues in a timely manner
- Maintain confidentiality and process information meeting the required standards for data protection

**As a minimum, you will need to have**:

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and collaborative approach and ability to tailor communication to different audiences
- Proactive approach to identifying and managing issues
- Good levels of numeracy
- Resilience and the ability to cope in a pressured and fast paced environment

**About the location**:
South Western Railways HQ is based on the 4th Floor at South Bank Central, a stone's throw from the River Thames and a 10 minute walk from our busiest station, Waterloo. It is local to many well-known attractions, restaurants and retail facilities and is easily accessible by public transport.

**Working pattern**:
Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days

Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00
