**Recovery officer**

**37 Hrs Per Week, 12 month Fixed Term Contract**

**Band 4: £24,294 to £26,421 per annum**

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Recovery Team as a Recovery Officer. You will be part of a busy and motivated team that is responsible for the collection of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debts.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who will enjoy the challenge of this rewarding role and help in maximising the income collected by the Council.

You will be expected to:

- Contribute to the Recovery Team’s administration and enforcement of Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debt in accordance with legislation, local policies and strategies.
- Deal with customer enquiries in writing, over the telephone and face to face demonstrating the ability to reach solutions having assessed information and applied legislation.
- Demonstrate organisational skills and accuracy in your work and have the ability to deal with a variety of incoming enquiries and to work to tight deadlines.
- Work towards personal and team targets with the minimum of supervision.

You will have;
- Good interpersonal skills with experience of working as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to convey information clearly at all levels with a highly professional approach to give advice.
- Ability to collate and assess information in order to reach sound judgements and a range of solutions.
- Enthusiasm & commitment to meet performance measures set.

You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to quality and performance and be enthusiastic about new initiatives and forthcoming changes.

This is a hybrid role which will allow you to work from home and the office once you are fully trained.

Please note, this role requires a satisfactory Basic disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (known as a DBS check).
