Deputy Greenkeeper

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Deputy Green keeper to join our team and help support our Head Green keeper. The Green keeper will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the course, ensuring they are kept in pristine condition. There will be a required for some weekend work to prepare the greens for competitions. There is a two bedroom cottage available in the town of High Bentham if required alongside the role.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi rough.
- Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating OOB, Drop zones and hazards.
- Switch and brush greens
- Identify and control pests and diseases
- Renovate worn and damaged turf
- Prepare and maintain machinery

**Expectations**
- Must have minimum NVQ Level 2
- Must have a driving license
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience working on golf courses
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Must be loyal, honest and hardworking
- Work as a team to ensure the course is maintained to a high standard
- Reports to work each day and on time and is prepared to do extra hours when needed.

Pay: £25,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

- Lancaster, LA2 7AG: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
- qualification in green keeping or willing to study (preferred)
