**Job Overview**:
We have a new opportunity Reporting to the Deputy Principal of Corporate Student Services. Assistant Principal of Student Experience is the Chief Ambassador for students, leading a strong Team who are committed to supporting the well-being and success of our students throughout their time at college.

**The Assistant Principal of Student Experience is responsible for the strategic leadership of a broad range of functions including**:

- Safeguarding, Wellbeing & Support;
- Enrichment & Learner Voice (Student Association);
- Tutorial;
- Careers Advice & Work Experience;
- Learning Resource Centre;
- Front of House;
- Security.

The Assistant Principal also has a key role in promoting the continuing development and ambition of our College Students Association. The Assistant Principal will instil a passion and enthusiasm for enhancing the student experience, not only in the teams but across the whole organisation. The Assistant Principal will work with internal and external partners to provide vision, leadership and an ethos of innovative practice in how we deliver the best quality of experience for all of our students.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- To provide strategic leadership, in partnership with the Executive Director, of a streamlined online student experience that supports students in all aspects of college life;
- Develop and implement coherent and effective cross-College support for the Learning and Teaching Strategy and associated policies and procedures;
- Provide strong and collegial leadership of your Team, supporting and nurturing them through proactive professional and personal development;
- Contribute to the College’s strategic and operational planning and performance reporting regime, including effective leadership of the SMT’s planning and performance;
- Manage financial budgets and workforce plans to deliver value for money and impact;
- Develop and enhance productive relationships with key partners;
- Ensure that all Student Support Services are promoted to existing and potential students in College and at events and in publicity for potential students;
- Review, develop and implement effective frameworks, systems and policies that ensures a holistic, inclusive and accessible provision of student support for all students to enable their success;
- Deliver an effective Personal Development Strategy;
- Work with Curriculum Directors to ensure that students are placed on courses appropriate to their needs, qualifications, aspirations and receive support appropriate to their needs;
- Ensure that the College admission, guidance and advice functions assist applicants to access appropriate learning;
- Contribute to the successful execution of the College’s Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Strategy;
- Provide strategic support to the USP College Students Association ensuring that it has the necessary resources to deliver its mission.

**General**:

- To promote the welfare of young people and to support the college in safeguarding students through relevant policies and procedures;
- To promote the safety and wellbeing of students;
- All roles are considered cross campus and on occasion travel may be required to either;
- Actively promote the College’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies within all aspects of the post;
- Adhere to and proactively promote the College’s Values and Behaviours at all times;
- Have a comprehensive understanding that Safeguarding including PREVENT is a shared cross College responsibility and to ensure that Safeguarding is robustly embedded into the curriculum and staffing community appropriate to their role within the organisation;
- Carry out supplementary evening or day and or weekend duties as required;
- To participate in staff CPD days, to gain valuable industry experience;
- Comply with the requirements of College Policies and Procedures;
- Be responsible for the implementation of and compliance with the College’s Health and Safety policy;
- Champion and embody best practice College developmental activities including Performance Appraisals;
- To be involved and participate in Student CPD days.
