Yard Assistant

We have a great opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic **Yard Assistant **to join our team at **Jewson Billericay, Radford Way (CM12 0DX)**

This role is working with **Jewson** as part of the **STARK Group.** We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftspeople who build, renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow.

From serving our customers in the yard to loading vehicles ready for delivery, and from monitoring stock to growing our sales on the trade counter, you’ll be at the heart of our operations. **Hours of Work**:Full time and permanent position - Monday-Friday 7:00am-16:30pm and every 2nd Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm.
- **So, what will you be doing?**_

As a **Yard Assistant** you will have one of the most important roles within the branch network. You will regularly be the first and last point of contact for customers visiting the branch, so you play a huge part in delivering a fantastic customer experience as well as promoting and maximising sales.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Welcome customers to the branch and take an active interest in their projects
- Get to know our product lines so you can offer help and advice
- Help to pick and pack customer orders
- Load/unload customer and supplier vehicles using a forklift to minimise manual handling
- Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products
- Maintain stock levels in both the shop and yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy and make Health & Safety a priority
