Specialist Support Practitioner

The Specialist Provision at Weston College leads the field and is pro-active in informing the sector, sharing good practice and developing inclusive provision for all learners.
Our aim is to provide high quality specialist support programmes which support learners to understand how their barriers impact on their learning and how they can work with specialist support teams to access a curriculum which addresses their individual needs, aspirations and vocational focus through empowerment. As a result of the pandemic, we are looking for engagement practitioners to join the SEND provision to provide specialist interventions to meet the changing needs of the learners.
The person appointed will be required to work as part of a team planning and delivering high quality innovative individualised programmes of support for learners with SEND with the Foundation Learning area. The position will focus on those learners who may struggle to engage with education, who have poor attendance and/or display challenging behaviour. This specialist support programmes provided will be delivered on a 1:1 basis and/or with small groups, empowering learner’s independence, setting high expectations and creating a culture that enables learners with SEND to excel.
The crucial aspect of the role will include working in collaboration with the teaching teams to develop learner’s programmes of study and tailoring to their individual needs.
Appointees will be required to have specialised knowledge and experience in working with learners with SEND.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: £23,960.00-£25,488.00 per year
