Our client are recruiting for a Business Intelligence Analyst who has experience in Pricing to join their team. This is a newly created position and would be fantastic for an innovative individual who has a passion for Data Visualisation and can be dynamicin the role, suggesting strategies to move the business forward based upon their analytical insight.
This role will be carried out on a hybrid basis at the companies South Wales office based in Newport. For the first 2 weeks of employment, it is requested that the successful applicant be based in the office full time for an induction period.
Main Duties
- To access key data points from our AI modelling tool to inform key stakeholders on pricing & incentives which ultimately influence key supply & demand metrics.
- To access other data sources, turning data into meaningful action driven business analysis.
- Work with key stakeholders so that the company embraces the tactical and strategic value of key data.
- Keep abreast of key external / 'macro' influences in the UK passenger mobility market.
- Conceptualise and creating report suites to visualise key insights of business performance.
- Reviewing data collection processes and assessing the validity of the information stored
- Understanding the laws surrounding the collecting and processing of data and ensuring that all policies reflect current legislation.
- Using, researching, and assessing data processing software.
- Identifying anomalous data and examining and eliminating any processes or procedures that contribute to unreliable data being collected.
- Working closely with the IT function to ensure that the data collection and storage systems are secure and robust.
- To be the 'owner' of the recently invested AI modelling capability
- To advise on regular and dynamic pricing / fare levels linked to passenger demand cycles
- Link key data on passenger information and trends with our marketing data resource to support campaign spend.

Relevant Skills and Experience
- Excellent mathematics and data analytics skills, particularly in use of statistics.
- Expertise in data mining and data visualisation techniques.
- Ability to translate complex trends into user friendly data to be used by the broader business
- Problem-solving skills and creativity.
- In-depth understanding of database design and management, including SQL and data modelling.
- Strong commercial administration skills.

Essential
- Demonstrated experience working as a Data Analyst, Data Reporter, Business Analyst, or a related role.
- Prior employment in an analytical capacity and experience working with large data sets.
- Industry experience in a commercially driven organization, where data supports strong decision making.
- Experience in logistics, transport & supply chain sectors in either B2B or B2C sectors is desirable

Desirable
- Subjects such as economics, business administration, engineering, computer science or data science are all useful.
- Qualifications that cover database design and management, data mining or data architecture are a plus.

**Benefits**:
