Our client is a friendly and fast-growing manufacturer of high quality desserts. They are currently offering an opportunity for an experienced quality professional.

**About The Role**:
You will play an active role in solving quality issues and continuous improvement, keeping the Technical Team informed of any issues.

**Main Purposes and Scope of Job**:
Ensuring the quality of products against agreed specifications and supporting the Technical Team as and when required.

**Duties and Key Responsibilities**:

- As a key member of the Technical Team to work without direct supervision for a significant proportion of time
- To ensure front line maintenance of site GMP, hygiene, quality and food safety systems and specifications providing technical support to staff and line management
- To monitor site activities against standards set, advise site management and staff of performance against the site standards and actively take part in corrective action to address non-compliance (liaising with relevant Departments)
- Within defined levels of responsibility be required to make decisions on food safety, quality and compliance to standards, to ensure the consumer receives the required quality product
- Play an active role in solving quality issues and continuous improvement programs and keep the Technical Team informed of any issues relevant to the efficient running of the business
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections/ audits/checks:

- Undertake Internal Audits, and ensure corrective actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence
- Ensure that the microbiological & chemical sampling schedules are adhered to, and all samples registered, sent to the laboratory on time and associated paperwork is completed
- Ensure quality attribute tests/taste panels are completed as required by testing schedules and in compliance with in-house specifications and QAS
- Carry out and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, periodic calibration/verification tests according to SOP’s, schedules on all required equipment
- Keep and maintain retention samples as required and store it accordingly
- To ensure site paperwork is completed correctly and as per SOPs and filed as required. Paperwork is to include weights, temperatures, cleaning records, start up checks, CCP checks, packaging traceability, recipes sheets and any other similar records within quality system
- To complete chemical strengths tests and action as per SOP
- To assist with induction training against mandatory standards for HACCP, Quality & Food Hygiene, etc., as per company standards
- To assist with other issues and tasks as deemed appropriate by the Technical Manager
- Promote and encourage, through active listening, identification, ownership and resolution of problems, to continually improve team and business performance
- Understand, observe and ensure compliance with Health and Safety rules and be aware of the safety of self and others to promote a safe working environment
