Cranfield students Association (CSA) is here to provide an exceptional experience to all students studying in any of our three campuses. We are a registered charity and are governed by a board of trustees, Cranfield university and are driven by the ever-changing student requirements. Our main goal is to support students and actively champion the student voice to both the university and the wider community. This involves engaging and connecting with all student demographics, including, international, mature, research, students with families and those who are studying part time.
- **About the Role**_

The purpose of this post is to drive the effective implementation of student engagement across our campuses by engaging with students and supporting our elected officers. This role will also actively involve playing a key part in delivery of the democratic functions of

Cranfield Students’ Association.

The successful applicant will work closely with the student body to increase engagement from all demographics and to champion the students voice to both the University and the wider community. The successful applicant must be approachable, focussed, and have a genuine passion for supporting students and delivering an amazing student experience

Previous work within a student union is desired but not essential if you have the personal qualities, enthusiasm, and drive, required for this varied, rewarding role.
- **Core Responsibilities**_

Working with the CSA President and executive team, the CSA co-ordinator, student representatives and university staff:

- To be the first point of contact for Student Voice; this will include meeting with students, aiding and dealing with queries appropriately.
- To support and develop an appropriate structure for academic representation to ensure that attendance at University Boards, committees, and meetings are meaningful, student led, and is as effective as possible. This will include pre meeting briefings and post meeting debriefings with elected representatives and staff.
- To maintain an accessible central source of information for elected representatives and staff and produce regular updates including briefings, reports, and newsletters.
- To develop and deliver effective briefing information, training, and updates for student representatives including liaising with university staff, NUS and external organisations on their behalf.
- To work with Student Representatives to implement student led structures to ensure they have support and guidance to perform their elected role to achieve student led outcomes.
- To be responsible for updating and maintaining relevant sections of the Student

Associations website and using it effectively as a tool for communication and information.
- To undertake relevant research in relation to projects/campaigns the Association is involved in.
- Working with the CSA co-ordinator, to co-ordinate the delivery, and support, of the elections processes and organise meetings as appropriate in line with the Students Associations governance structures. To then ensure all information is centralised and held in accordance with relevant legal requirements.
- To celebrate successes through co-ordination of internal systems of reward and recognition and organising celebratory events relevant to representation.
- To ensure engagement through representation at our other campuses and enable impacts to be recorded and delivered.
- To develop and deliver training and support to student representatives involved with student voice.
- To develop and maintain positive relationships with key university stakeholders and partners, particularly those who will be key to student academic representatives, student experience and internal communications.
- This role will also support students with independent academic appeals and effectively develop student representation that ensures the student voice is heard.

- Comply with the policies, procedures, and protocols in place within the Students

Association.
- Maintain a good knowledge of student concerns and the main issues that matter to our students
- Contribute to the delivery of the annual Student Welcome activities to support the Students’

Association in delivering a high-quality experience for returning and new students.
- Contribute to the ongoing facilitation of student voice and feedback to both our University and the Students’ Association.
