London, United Kingdom Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Psychology is expanding in CNWL Harrow Adult Mental Services and we are excited to offer this new post for a Band 7/ Band 8a Psychologist (dependent on experience) to join our team. The post will be primarily linked to our Psychiatric Liaison Service (PLS) but also work closely with our other acute and community mental health teams to support continuity of care.

The post holder will be required to support service users of the PLS presenting with a range of mental health difficulties and admitted to the acute physical health wards of Northwick Park Hospital (NPH).

**Good Practice Examples**: Professional Practice | BPS

If you are motivated and passionate about delivering high quality psychological care, come and join our well-established team of psychological therapists with a diverse range of special interests.

We would welcome informal visits and the opportunity to show you our services.

The PLS is an integrated multi-disciplinary team that supports inpatients of the NPH physical health wards, experiencing difficulties with their mental health and/or cognitive function. The post-holder will work closely with this team as well as a range of multi-disciplinary staff from the physical health wards. They will join an expanding acute psychological therapies team, committed to providing highly specialist, integrated and trauma-informed care.

The post-holder will play a key role in the assessment of service users on the physical health wards of NPH, the development of formulation-driven care plans to support discharge and onwards care, and the provision of psychological intervention that follows service users across the system. They will be expected to work as a senior member of the multi-professional team; and provide consultation, co-working, teaching, training, supervision and research. They will make a leading contribution to the learning culture of the team and wider service and play an integral role in the further development of trauma-informed care.

You must have a strong commitment to teamwork, an ability to facilitate ongoing development of the psychology service and to work sensitively within a culturally diverse environment. Research and further professional development are encouraged.

Mental health care across the Harrow system is delivered by multi-disciplinary teams with a shared sense of ownership for clinical care. The psychology service is well integrated and highly valued, with excellent MDT working relationships.

The Psychiatric Liaison Service, adult inpatient mental health wards and Home Treatment Team are all located in the CNWL Harrow Mental Health Centre. This is a separate unit based on the Northwick Park Hospital site. The location of all these services on one site enables cohesive working across the acute teams, who work closely ensuring a streamlined transition pathway for service users. The three Harrow Community Mental Health Hubs are located close by (Headstone Drive, Harrow) and all teams (acute and community) work together as one system to provide fully integrated and cohesive care.

The psychology department has close links with UEL, UCL and Royal Holloway DClinPsych courses.
