Forestry Surveyor

As a member of the team, you will have the chance to work in various stunning locations across Scotland, exploring its rich and diverse forests.

**Working Hours**: Full Time/Part Time (Flexible working pattern)
**Location**: Loch Lomond (Various locations across Scotland)
We provide full training and support on specific data collection techniques and protocols, ensuring you are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in your role. All we ask for is a valid driving license, as you will be required to travel between locations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform various data collection tasks as outlined in the field survey protocols.
- Conduct mensuration activities, including measuring tree heights, diameters, species identification, and plot assessments
- Demonstrate navigation and mapping skills to locate and map sample squares accurately
- Familiarity with broad and priority habitats
- Ensure accountability for the collected data and maintain high-quality standards.

**Requirements**:

- Basic understanding of forestry and environmental principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to data collection protocols.
- Proficient in navigation and mapping techniques.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with landowners and obtain necessary permissions.
- Willingness to work outdoors and travel to various locations as required.
- Capability to interpret and record data accurately.
- Flexibility to adapt to potential changes in data collection requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the data collected within each assigned sample square.
- Able to prioritise own workload and work to deadlines
