We are currently looking to recruit a Civil Team Lead who will be part of the HPC integrated team in Edvance UK (ITB), the Civil team lead will be embedded in one of the three building teams in ITB. This building team, led by the corresponding Building Manager, is a multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of the design of a specific scope of buildings within the Nuclear Island.

As a Civil team lead you will be the head of a team of civil engineers (3 to 8) working in the building team. Their responsibility includes meeting project requirements to cost, quality and time as defined by the Building Manager.

This role will be based in Edvance, which is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, an EPCC established in 2018 in charge of the design (basic design) and the realization (studies, procurement, erection, testing and commissioning) of nuclear islands for new projects in France and worldwide. Spearhead of the French nuclear industry, it aims through its objectives and challenges of economic competitiveness and performance, to position itself sustainably in nuclear markets internationally and those of the renewal of the French fleet.

In particular, Edvance is responsible for the design and construction of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project and for the design of the EPR2, an optimized EPR model incorporating the feedback from the ongoing EPR projects. It will also carry out new nuclear offers and projects in France and abroad.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Responsible for respect of the civil design sequence, with its associated dates and milestones, for the assigned buildings
- Collect, analyse and verify the consistency of input data from previous projects and other disciplines.
- Specifically coordinate equipment load input data, manage any evolution to the loads and the potential impact on the design, ensuring an appropriate traceability of the building configuration at all times
- Operational management of a team of civil engineers, monitoring workload and assigning the appropriate tasks depending on the skills and competences of each member of the team, with the support of the Civil group lead when needed.
- Produce deliverables for which they are responsible and ensure they are raised to the appropriate approval levels and the correct process is followed.
- Perform technical verifications of civil engineering design notes, models and drawings, when needed.
- Liaise with HPC site based engineering teams
- Prepare and chair progress meetings within their scope of activity.
- Prepare and chair or participate in maturity and gate reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to CDM reviews, maintain the Design Risk Register.
- Manage the many different stakeholders involved in the engineering design sequence.
- Anticipate and raise alerts on technical open points or contractual matters.
- Managing project requirements to cost, quality and time as defined by the Building Manager
- Timely dissemination of any appropriate Lessons Learnt within the Civil Group.

**Who you are**

**Essential**
- Master’s degree in civil engineering
- Civil engineering design office experience, particularly in the design of industrial reinforced concrete structures
- Knowledge and understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering
- Knowledge of the design and detailing of reinforced concrete
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Experience of delivery in complex environments
- Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to set, achieve and maintain high standards of safety and quality
