**We currently have a vacancy for a Grants Officer to join our Policing and Crime team.**

It is an exciting time to be joining the Mayoral Combined Authority. We have a wide variety of exciting projects that we are working on which will help shape the West Yorkshire region.

We are working with our partners and stakeholders to shape this vision to ensure it reflects the engagement, knowledge, and expertise of all organisations who work in the community safety field. We work alongside those with lived experience, and who have been harmed by crime, to inform and develop services for West Yorkshire.

**This is an exciting time to join Policing and Crime to help us deliver the Mayors Safer Community Fund and help us make our communities safer.**

The Mayors Safer Communities Fund helps voluntary, community groups, charities and partners make their communities Safe, Just, Inclusive. Grants are awarded in line with the priorities set out in the Police and Crime plan ensuring the monies recovered from criminals by West Yorkshire Police (under the Proceeds of Crime Act) are put back into our communities to tackle policing, crime and community safety issues through a range of direct interventions. The fund also creates positive engagement with the projects and those they seek to support ensuring we understand the key challenges faced by our communities.

**The Role**:
**Reporting into the Consultation and Engagement Manager your key responsibilities will include**:

**About You**:
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:

- Knowledge of communities, Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise sector, statutory organisations, community funding and granting.
- Practical experience of engaging in a community facing role and successfully performing in a similar role.
- Educated to degree or equivalent relevant education or experience.
- Understanding of funding including the implications on regulations and financial monitoring.
- Ability to positively and respectfully work closely with partners and communities.
- Demonstrate a commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
